-
CHANGE YOUR OIL AND FILTER
REGULARLY-Dirty oil makes your engine work harder, thus reducing
fuel economy. Additionally, using semi and full synthetic oils,
though more costly, can increase drain intervals and provide up to
5% increased fuel economy
-
CHANGE YOUR AIR AND CABIN FILTER-A
dirty air cleaner can reduce fuel economy up to 12%. A dirty cabin
filter can make your cooling system work more efficiently and reduce
contaminants entering the inside of your vehicle.
-
CLEAN YOUR FUEL SYSTEM-Fuel system
deposits form in as little as 3000 miles. Using a fuel system
cleaner at every service and having your fuel system cleaned every
15,000 miles can improve fuel economy up to 10%.
-
FILL YOUR TIRES WITH NITROGEN-Nitrogen
has more mass that traditionally filled tires. Tire pressure is more
consistent, thus increasing fuel economy up to 3%.
-
INFLATE YOUR TIRES TO THE MAX-Having
tires inflated to the maximum recommended pressure can improve gas
mileage by as much as 6%.
-
CHECK AND CHANGE COOLANT
REGULARLY-Most vehicles fuel delivery systems rely on proper engine
operating temperatures. The proper mix and Ph level of your engine
coolant makes your engine run cooler and more fuel efficient.
-
ROTATE YOUR TIRES-Rotating your tires
two times per year increases tire life and also creates an
opportunity for technicians to inspect safety related items such as
BRAKE AND STEERING SYSTEMS, SHOCKS AND STRUTS, AND THE UNDERBODY OF
YOUR VEHICLE.
-
TRANSMISSION FLUID-Oxidized
transmission fluid is a major cause for transmission failure. With
today’s overdrive transmissions, your vehicle may shift up to 12
times between 0 and 40 MPH. This causes fluid to overheat. Have your
fluid checked regularly and changed every 30-40,000 miles.
-
POWER STEERING FLUID
EXCHANGE/FLUSH-Steering fluid gets oxidized and fails to lubricate
the steering system. This creates a strain on the belt drive system
and engine, reducing fuel economy and possibly causing expensive
repairs. This service should be performed every 15-20,000 miles.
-
BELTS-If your belts have cracks
(industry standard more than 13 per inch), they should be replaced.
Generally, have them inspected once a year.
-
WIPER BLADES-For safety’s sake, change
them twice per year. They get dried out, crack, and streaky being
exposed to the elements. You never know when you may need them at
optimum efficiency.
-
EXTERIOR FINISH-Wash and wax your
vehicle regularly. A clean car is a happy car!!
